Setting Up of One-Stop Consultation Desk for Evacuees from Ukraine

Nara Prefecture set up a One-Stop Consultation Desk in the Nara Prefecture International Citizens Support Center to give consultations for those who have evacuated from Ukraine to facilitate their smooth transition to life in Japan/Nara.

The One-Stop Consultation Desk provides information about life in general for evacuees from Ukraine, including housing, education, and employment.

This service is for people who fled the war in Ukraine, their family members, or those who are

    involved in assisting them.

2 Location:

   Nara Prefecture International Citizens Support Center (Silkia Nara 2nd Floor, 8-1, Sanjo-

   honmachi, Nara City)

 

3 Available Service:

   Information/advice on life in general for people who evacuated from Ukraine. (Consultation is

   free of charge)

 

4 Languages:

   Japanese, English, Ukrainian, and Russian

   Reservation is needed for consultations in Ukrainian or Russian.

 

5 Means of Communication:

   In-person, by telephone or online (Zoom or Skype)

   ※For the time being, consultations in Ukrainian or Russian are available only in-person or on the

      phone.

 

6 Operating Hours:

   9:0017:00 Monday  through Friday (Closed on national holidays and the year-end/ New Year

   period)

Support for Evacuees from Ukraine

Nara Prefecture is providing support for daily life and housing to those who fled from Ukraine. In the future, for long-term stays, we are also planning to offer assistance with education and employment.

 

1Support for Daily Living

 ○Providing information about life in general

  ・We will be giving necessary information for life in Nara Prefecture in Ukrainian and other

         languages.

 ○Providing necessities for daily living

  ・Upon request, we will provide items that are necessary for daily living.

 

2Housing Support

 ○ Temporary accommodation

  ・We provide hotel accommodation in Nara Prefecture as a temporary place of stay.

 ○Prefectural housing

  ・We provide housing that the prefecture has prepared for emergencies.

3Educational assistance

 ○Ensuring access to education

  ・We will set up a consultation desk to support schooling of children within the compulsory

   education age range. 

  ・Nara Prefectural Kokusai (International) High School and other schools will receive high school

   age students.

 

4Job assistance

 ○Setting up a job consultation desk (Providing information to job seekers)

  ・The desk will give job consultations, provide recruitment information, and connect job seekers

   with businesses.
